Help Vero Beach Rowing Raise $50k for Youth Athletes!
Vero Beach Rowing Club’s Mission:
“To promote and teach the sport of rowing to the community in order to develop physical fitness, personal character and an ethic of cooperation through competitive and recreational opportunities.”
Vero Beach Rowing is a young program that has shown great success in a few short years. Just this past year our youth men’s & women’s teams competed in numerous regattas, including state, regional & national championships in Sarasota and Youth Summer Nationals in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. We also have one boat competing in the Head of the Charles in Boston, MA this October. Success at this level derives from the number of rowers that become a part of our team. Without scholarships and fundraising our program cannot expand the way we need it to! Contributions help us grow our rowing program & in turn build a stronger youth athlete community.
The 2022 Vero Beach Rowing Erg-a-Thon goal is to raise $50,000. Participants from our masters, varsity, novice & middle school will work together to test their physical fitness, personal character & team cooperation. Starting December 17th@ 8am rowing teams of all ages will spin machines for a total of 42,195 meters (a full 26.2 mile marathon distance). Each rower is encouraged to raise at least $500 to meet our $50k goal.
This past summer of 2022, 36 kids received scholarships for our summer "learn to row" camp program. Athletes from The Boys and Girls Club, Gifford Youth Achievement Center & Hope Scholars were amongst these attendees. A large portion of this assistance was raised at the previous years Erg-a-Thon.
Please help send more kids to rowing camp, help subsidize rowers in financial need & help develop a lifelong, year round outdoor sport for our youth. This can be done through a tax deductible gift to Vero Beach Rowing, Inc., a section 501©(3) non-profit.Thank you for joining our efforts in supporting the largest number of young athletes in Indian River County. Your donations will help these athletes develop necessary life skills for future success through the opportunity to row.
