Please Help Me Change Kids Lives through Rowing!

As a member of the Vero Beach Rowing varsity, I have seen how rowing has changed my life. Vigorous physical activity is important to every developing child especially when so many of us have been remote learning and often confined to our homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many summer, after school and other youth programs have been cancelled. VBR works hard to provide healthy and safe outdoor exercise for kids in Vero Beach and Indian River County. Now more than ever before, there are so many more kids who need our help.

We are rowing a marathon for your help! Our goal this fall is to raise more than $30,000 through our Erg-A-Thon, an event that will test and strengthen our athletes physical fitness, personal character and determination. Starting at 10:00am on December 12 at our new Community Boathouse, teams of rowers will keep their rowing machines spinning for 42,195 meters - a full 26.2 mile marathon distance! Each of our club's rowers has been challenged to raise at least $700 to meet our goal.

The rowing experience has challenged me to work hard and support my teammates as they support me. With your help we can expand our programs so more kids in Indian River County can join our team and benefit from safe, fun outdoor experiences on the water.
